July means jazz festival time in Veszprém

Rosé, Riesling and Jazz Festival, Veszprém

Over the festival's ten days, thirty wineries will be pouring their wines alongside the concerts, including small family-run cellars.

10 days, 30 winemakers, 30 concerts – this is how the Rosé, Riesling and Jazz Festival in Veszprém has been advertised for years, yet even the second claim no longer holds true: with the addition of stands from local wine shops and wine bars, at least 32 outlets offering nearly 200 wines will await visitors on Óváros tér for ten days from 10 July.

Speaking at the event's press conference, festival director Zsandár Tamás said that alongside the larger wineries well known in the area and specialities such as NivEgy wine, born of a collaboration between winemakers of the Nivegy Valley, several smaller cellars have also been invited this year.

These smaller-volume wineries in the Balaton Uplands will have the opportunity at the festival to present themselves to the general public, vehir.hu reports.

The article reports that this year greater emphasis will be placed on outstanding musicians who are local or who started out in Veszprém; however, unlike in previous years, the concerts will not start at six in the evening but an hour later. What is more, the wine village will open at six rather than five.

On the festival's closing day, the audience will be able to watch the final of the football World Cup on a big screen.
