Winehub has reached a new milestone: alongside its wine outlet on Pacsirtamező utca, the brand has now added a brand-new location in Buda. The new venue, which has opened right next to Mammut, is not just a wine shop but a fully fledged wine bar, where relaxed evening get-togethers come with quality wine experiences.
The owners, Carlos and Ingeborg Coelho, wanted to create a relaxed, friendly wine bar where it is easy to drop in after work for a glass of wine, meet friends or even work. As they said at the opening event, the essence of the concept is that wine lovers should always find new, surprising wines, even if they only pop in for a quick glass.
The core idea of the place centres on organic and natural wines, alongside which the public’s well-known favourites are still on offer. The entire range of the Haraszthy Winery and several exciting sparkling wines can also be found on the shelves. Guests can discover easy-drinking novelties, new arrivals and the diversity of classic Hungarian wines all at once.
A selection that changes every two weeks
The wines available by the glass change constantly, while guests can also buy bottles to take away. Alongside simple bites designed to go with the wines, a wide Hungarian and international selection awaits visitors in a small space with a homely atmosphere.
They also offer plenty of programmes for those interested, but these tastings will not follow the traditional format, says sommelier Tűű Péter – instead, they will present their wines sitting among the guests, over informal conversation.
Hungarian and international wines, exciting discoveries
The selection places great emphasis on organic, natural wines made with minimal intervention. Roughly half of the range consists of foreign wines, and as the official importers of several champagne houses, their sparkling wine selection is particularly strong, including labels such as Besserat de Bellefon and even Dom Pérignon. Prosecco and Hungarian sparkling wines also feature in the range, again with a focus on the natural style.
“One of the services at Winehub Lövőház is that, if guests book a table in advance, they can ask for any wine they choose to be chilled beforehand, and it can even be served to them by the glass on site. That way even a rarer or more special wine can easily become a shared experience for a group,” adds the sommelier.
Quality tapas, hams and small bites can also be ordered to go with the wines, making the place the perfect “starting point” for a longer evening out or simply for an after-work chat.
