Zichy Family Experience Estate

After a complete renovation, the Zichy Családi Élménybirtok (Zichy Family Experience Estate) in Bikács reopens on 17 July, owned and operated by Eventrend Group: the 12-hectare complex focuses on family tourism, with an affordable, experience-based offering.

During the comprehensive renovation and development of the facility formerly known as the Zichy Park Hotel, costing more than HUF 2 billion, every element of the hotel has been transformed: the wellness area has been extended, the communal spaces renewed, the rooms modernised, and an entirely new experience structure has been created in the outdoor areas.

The 12-hectare estate now operates as a complex, diversified tourism product that complements accommodation with an experience-based programme offering, the hotel's owner, Eventrend Group, told the editors of Turizmus.com.

According to the company, the Zichy does not target the luxury segment; instead it offers families well-thought-out, high-quality yet affordable services at a four-star superior level.

The target group is families with children aged 0–12, one of the most active and stable demand segments in domestic tourism. The offering is correspondingly comprehensive: on the estate, meadows, nature trails, adventure parks and playgrounds provide leisure experiences, and a lake also graces the grounds, while indoors, communal spaces, indoor play areas and programmes round off the stay.

The experience estate's operating model goes beyond the classic hotel structure: the aim is to create a fully fledged experience environment on site, where guests keep discovering something new even during a stay of several days.

The reopening is also significant economically: a workforce of 40–50 people is an outstanding proportion in a village of around 400–500 inhabitants, so the Zichy Családi Élménybirtok will become a stable player in the local economy, they pointed out.

In addition to the tourism offering, the project also incorporates awareness-raising elements: the reopening is accompanied by a national creative competition for children aged 3–7, entitled “What Makes Mother Earth Smile?” (Mitől mosolyog Földanya?). The initiative aims to strengthen environmental awareness in a playful way while building a direct connection with families. The competition runs from 15 May to 10 June; entries should be sent to info@zichyelmenybirtok.hu, and the results will be announced on 15 June.

As part of the CSR initiative linked to the reopening, the Zichy Családi Élménybirtok is also hosting foster families. The programme is being prepared with the help of an organisation that coordinates a foster-parent network and helps find families for whom this shared break can be a real experience and a chance to recharge.

The aim of the initiative is to allow children and families who rarely or never have the opportunity to enjoy a carefree holiday together to do so, the company said.
