Hungary’s first city is once again preparing programmes worthy of a coronation city for the celebration of the founding of the state. At the Esztergom St Stephen’s Days, held from 19 to 23 August, visitors can enjoy performances, concerts, family programmes, a craft fair and a wide range of food and drink.
All events in the five-day programme series are free to attend.
Well-known performers from across the country will take turns on the festival stage. Performers include Bikini, Budapest Bár, Csík Zenekar, Ildikó Keresztes, Miklós Varga and the Band, Kormorán, A GRUND – Vígszínházi Fiúzenekar and Dívák.
In addition to the main-stage concerts, cultural performances, family and children’s programmes, a craft fair and a rich selection of food and drink await visitors.
The youngest visitors will be entertained by puppet shows, interactive musical performances, fairy-tale plays, the Park Mozi open-air cinema, a bouncy castle, face painting and juggling. The children’s programmes also include performances by the Magyar Népmese Színház, the Kabóca Bábszínház, Csillangó Meseműhely, the Kolompos Együttes and the Bóbita Zenekar.
At the fair, local makers offer their unique wares, while the food court adds a variety of flavours to the festival atmosphere. The detailed programme is available on the Visit Esztergom website.
