The free series of events begins on Saturday 4 September with a procession of wine brotherhoods and a blessing of the grapes in the Budafok market square. The festival will feature 40 wineries.
Concerts at the festival will be given by the 2026 winners of the Pincejárat Zenei Tehetségkutató (Pincejárat music talent contest), the members of the Takáts Tamás Blues Band; Paulina, Miklós H. Vecsey and the Etnofon Zenei Társulás; the Góbé band; and the bands Cimbaliband and Los Koyotes, while the Budafok Big Band will also perform with its guests Myrtill Micheller and Tibor Kocsis.
The Budafok Champagne and Wine Festival offers a last opportunity to see the first permanent exhibition of the Magdolna Udvar Local History Collection, Élet-képek – Budafok-Tétény története napjainkig (Life Pictures – The History of Budafok-Tétény to the Present Day). The collection presents the district’s past through personal objects and images, with particular emphasis on the factories and small industries of Budafok-Tétény.
In the Művészkert (Artists’ Garden), visitors can view open-air installations with a distinctive visual world by contemporary fine and applied artists from the district; the Barlanglakás Emlékkiállítás (Cave Dwelling Memorial Exhibition) presents the room and kitchen of Mrs Győző Tóth and the lodgers’ quarters, while the Gyermekliget (Children’s Grove) offers all-day experiences and family programmes.
