Pancakes are eaten all over the world, with countless variations from country to country, and children and adults alike love them in one form or another. The Budai Palacsinta Piknik celebrates this passion on 15–17 May 2026 on the promenade next to Allee.
The pancake is a dessert with its own international day: it has been given a celebration of its own 46 days before Easter. The Budai Palacsinta Piknik, however, dedicates a weekend to the treat in May, when fresh fruit is also in season.
International flavours, filled pancakes, layered pancake cake, American pancakes, grandma-style pancakes, breaded pancakes, sweet pancakes, savoury pancakes and many other special flavours are waiting to be discovered at the event. The organisers have also thought of visitors with food allergies or on special diets, with gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan pancakes on offer too.
Visitors can also look forward to waffles, doughnuts, chimney cake (kürtőskalács), street food treats, a producers’ market of food and crafts, beers, wines and pálinkas.
