The large-scale Tata event of the Stílusos Vidéki Éttermiség (SVÉT, “Stylish Rural Restaurants”) is celebrating a jubilee year: for the fifteenth time, the best rural restaurants and producers can meet in person at their annual showcase. This year, on 13–14 September 2025, exhibitors will once again gather in the park of the Esterházy Palace in Tata.
This year is a special one, as the SVÉT community is celebrating its jubilee. A long time has passed, and the community has accomplished a great many tasks over the years.
The team’s most important goal is to bring quality dishes made from quality ingredients to the table, so that Hungarian gastronomy, true to its traditions, once again uses first-class ingredients. By supporting Hungarian agriculture, the country’s restaurants hope to reach as many as possible of the Hungarian producers and producer communities who share this direction.
This year’s slogan is “Flavours from a pure source” (Ízek tiszta forrásból), and the record of the past fifteen years bears this out. At this year’s gastronomy gathering the main focus is on Hungarian cheese and dairy products, but Mangalica will of course be on the menu again, and truffles, Hungarian wines, honey and local ingredients will also play a prominent role.
This year, too, exhibitors from beyond Hungary’s borders will take part, guests are coming from France and Spain, and exhibitors will also arrive from four regions of the Hungarian Nyitott Porta Napok (Open Gate Days) programme series: “All Things Szatmár-Bereg” (Minden, ami Szatmár-Bereg); “Treasures of the Little Hungarian Plain” (Kisalföld Kincsei); “Iron Curtain – from the Alpokalja to South Zala” (Vasfüggöny – az Alpokaljától Dél-Zaláig); and “The Heart of Transdanubia – from the Balaton Uplands to the Vasi-hegyhát” (Dunántúl szíve – a Balaton-felvidéktől egészen a Vasi-hegyhátig).
Ready-made dishes, local producers’ goods, rural flavours and plenty of delicacies will be brought to the Tata event, so that these acquaintances and the deepening of new connections can help support this sector. The event is not just a gastronomy festival but a real bustling fair, where the very produce from which the delicious dishes were made will also be on offer.
