Thousands of programmes at hundreds of venues – concerts, guided tours, interactive events, family and children’s programmes and theatre performances – await visitors across the country on 21 June, the Night of Museums.
This year the organisers once again invited a well-known artist to be the ambassador of the Night of Museums: Gubás Gabi, Jászai Mari Award-winning actress, who visited museums and exhibitions to map out the programmes awaiting visitors. Short videos were also made about her experiences, which can be viewed on the Night of Museums Facebook and Instagram pages.
This year’s featured venue for the event will be Miskolc, where, for example, visitors can see the Pannon Sea Museum, while in connection with the Hermann Ottó Museum’s exhibition Blossoming Folk Art (Virágzó Népművészet) they can try their hand at traditional crafts and folk dance; there will also be a folk art fashion show and a performance by the Miskolczi Dalárda choir.
Actors from the National Theatre of Miskolc are preparing a flash mob, the literature and music of Jókai’s era will be brought to life, and at the Archaeological Visitor Storehouse (Régészeti Látványraktár) an unconventional exhibition and an interactive display await the public.
The full programme can be found on the event’s official website, www.muzej.hu. On the Muzéj Facebook and Instagram pages, alongside the short films, you will also find interesting facts, information and valuable prizes.
