On the last day of July, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Budapest officially opened within the walls of the Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection, marking the launch of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global’s first restaurant in Central Europe. The new restaurant combines the traditions of British hospitality with Hungarian gastronomic inspiration.

The opening was preceded by exceptional interest: several hundred table reservations were received in the first 24 hours after the online booking system went live.

At the heart of the menu are Gordon Ramsay’s iconic dishes: the Beef Wellington for sharing, the classic Fish & Chips and the Sticky Toffee Pudding all feature.

In line with the “Born In London, Built For Budapest” concept, the Bar & Grill’s British heritage is complemented by Hungarian ingredients and local gastronomic traditions.

Hungarian ingredients play a key role in dishes such as Mangalica specialities, chicken paprikash and lángos enriched with Jászság summer truffle and foie gras. The restaurant’s Budapest-only specialities include the Chimney Cake Eton Mess dessert, inspired by the Transylvanian kürtőskalács. The offering is completed by a spectacular sushi and raw bar serving fresh raw seafood, where oysters, a surf & turf selection and salmon, tuna and wagyu nigiri await guests.

“Over the past months our team has worked with extraordinary dedication to bring this concept to life, so it is a particular pleasure for us to finally welcome our guests,” said András Katona, Chef de Cuisine of Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Budapest. “It has been an inspiring experience to work with such an exceptional professional team. Together we have created a restaurant that pays tribute both to the international standards of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants and to Hungarian gastronomic traditions.”

The homely feel is not only reflected in the familiar flavours. Designed by Patina Studio, the restaurant, with seating for almost 160, is built around a simple idea: guests should feel as if they are arriving in an elegant living room rather than a hotel restaurant.

Warm-toned wooden surfaces, richly patterned textiles, soft lighting and more intimate spaces divided by bookshelves create a layered, homely atmosphere. The centrepiece of the interior is the open kitchen and the dry-ageing cabinets, where premium meat and fish take the spotlight, while the bar is worth discovering in its own right. Here, alongside a taste of the full menu, guests can explore a rich selection of wines and spirits, as well as Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill’s classic cocktails and signature drinks created exclusively for Budapest.
