Budapest’s newest hotel, the Infinity Budapest Hotel, has opened in the Millennium City Centre. The four-star superior hotel takes its name from the edgeless pool on its roof terrace, which could make it a unique highlight of the capital’s premium hotel offering.
The Infinity Budapest Hotel was unveiled at a grand opening in the 9th district, in the business quarter on the Danube bank. It was built to designs by the Symbister architectural firm led by Dienes János and interior designer Finta Csaba, with Grabarics Kft. as contractor. The owner of the investment is Infinity Residence Kft., which carried out the project entirely from private funds, without state support or bank loans, at a cost of some HUF 10 billion. Construction began in 2020 and took four years.
The completed building consists of two functional units: a hotel and 50 luxury apartments. Most of the hotel rooms have balconies offering full panoramic views of the Danube and the city. The adult-friendly property, geared to the needs of business travellers and guests seeking peaceful relaxation, has a separate wellness floor.
The owners of the investment are Varjasi Tamás and Keresztes Zsolt. The latter has a hospitality background: he was once manager of the restaurant at the Silvanus Hotel in Visegrád. The hotel is operated by Lara Hotels, a Hungarian-owned company specialising in hotel management, which was awarded the contract in January 2025. The general manager of the Infinity Budapest Hotel and of Lara Hotels is Gál Sándor.
Wellness services for business travellers
At the opening, Somlyai Zoltán, president of the Hungarian Hotel & Restaurant Association, welcomed the building’s owners and developers. In his speech he stressed that the Budapest hotel market continues to develop, and that the opening of new hotels shows that the capital’s tourism has significant growth potential. He compared the Infinity’s long swimming lane to the optically infinite pool of the iconic Marina Bay hotel in Singapore, as both create the effect of water flowing into the horizon. As he put it: “With this, the hotel is bringing a distinctive product to the market that is in itself a guarantee of success.”
James Bond’s car on the 12th floor
On the top floor, next to the pool, is the panoramic restaurant and cocktail bar, the Selva Skybar. Its gastronomic concept is built on premium ingredients and follows Mediterranean influences. The backbone of the drinks concept is formed by top-of-the-range drinks from Aston Martin. A real Aston Martin car can also be seen on the roof terrace, which will be a visual centrepiece of the rooftop bar’s James Bond-themed Friday-night music and dance shows.
After its soft opening period, the hotel is now fully operational, and occupancy exceeded 80 per cent in the period following the opening. The hotel has a staff of 25, with a further 30 employees working in the ground-floor breakfast area and the Skybar.
