D8 Hotel Budapest is joining voco hotels, the fast-growing premium brand of IHG Hotels & Resorts. The move marks a renewal for the hotel, strengthening its international presence while enriching Budapest's hotel offering with a fresh, distinctive premium experience, according to their press release.
As they write, voco hotels aim to stand out from the crowd: the brand combines the security of a global background with the individual character of each hotel. Known for relaxed yet high-quality hospitality, voco hotels offer a warm, no-frills premium experience that truly comes alive in thoughtful details, friendly service and strong local roots.
Located in the heart of the city, D8 Hotel Budapest has built up a loyal clientele over the years with its clean design, excellent location and easy-going atmosphere. As a new member of the brand, the hotel will retain its distinctive identity while benefiting from IHG's global systems, sales network and loyalty programme, giving international travellers another reason to discover Budapest.
Alongside the rebranding, the hotel is undergoing a phased renovation programme from spring 2026. The modernisation covers the rooms, public areas, food and beverage outlets and back-of-house areas, focusing on improving comfort and the use of space. The aim of the upgrades is to strengthen a friendly, social experience. The hotel will remain partially open during the works.
“Joining the voco brand is an important milestone in the life of our hotel. It gives us the opportunity to further develop the guest experience while preserving the uniqueness that makes D8 Hotel special. We are convinced that this partnership will further strengthen our international competitiveness and our appeal to modern city travellers,” said Iván Jász, the hotel's general manager.
Sustainability is also a defining element of the brand's philosophy – from energy-efficient operation to reducing single-use plastics – supporting responsible tourism without compromising guest comfort.
