Al Habtoor Palace Budapest

Al Habtoor Palace Budapest is celebrating the first anniversary of its opening with programmes and exclusive offers that also appeal to the Budapest public. Over the past twelve months, the hotel has gradually built up its market position among the capital's luxury hotels and has welcomed many international stars.

Last February, the first European property of the Al Habtoor Palace brand opened in Hungary. The building owner's own Emirati brand replaced the Ritz-Carlton at the hotel on Erzsébet tér, which was built at the turn of the 20th century as the headquarters of the Adria Insurance Company. The Al Habtoor concept, which has now entered the Budapest market, is built on thoughtful, personalised hospitality that reinterprets Dubai hospitality in a European cultural setting. The hotel's food and beverage outlets – Velvet Bar & Café, Kupola Lounge and Ottimo restaurant – have become popular meeting places over the past year not only for hotel guests but also for discerning Budapest locals.

Milestones in the first year
In its first year, Al Habtoor Palace Budapest positioned itself not only as a leading luxury hotel but also as an event venue in Budapest. The hotel hosted private, corporate and lifestyle events, while its seasonal programmes – especially events linked to the festive season – also attracted local guests.

According to the management, joining the international Preferred Hotels & Resorts network has helped the hotel, which offers 170 rooms and 29 suites, raise its international profile. Last year, several world-famous performers, including members of Iron Maiden and Guns N’ Roses, as well as Formula 1 drivers, stayed at Al Habtoor Palace during their time in Budapest.

An important milestone of the past year was the opening of Velvet Bar & Café, which operates as an elegant café and patisserie by day and as a cosy cocktail bar in the evening.

Plans for the coming year
According to the hotel's management, the focus in the coming year will remain on fine-tuning the guest experience, special gastronomic experiences and expanding cultural and social programmes. Their aim is to build even closer ties with international guests and the local community alike.

“In the coming year we will continue to focus on personalised experiences and on programmes that reflect not only Al Habtoor Palace but also the character of the city,” said the hotel's CEO, who says he is proudest of his team. “In a short time, we have managed to create an operating culture that is at once elegant and welcoming, refined and approachable,” said Rahim Abu Omar.
