Events industry

Alongside contemporary fine art, this year design, fashion and jewellery art will also have their own sections at the Budapest Contemporary (BCT) exhibition and fair, held from 2 to 4 October at Bálna in Budapest.

The fourth edition of the event will feature nearly 40 contemporary art galleries, including acb Gallery, Einspach & Czapolai Fine Art, Kisterem, Nemes Gallery, Rechnitzer Gallery, Vintage Gallery and Zsdrál Art. The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) will once again present the work of the young generation of artists, and a selection from the Horn Collection will be given a prominent place at the event.

The new design section, entitled The Collector’s Home (A gyűjtő otthona), explores the relationship between art and design through the fictional home of a contemporary art collector. In the fashion section, designer Szegedi Kata puts the spotlight on collaborations between the KATA SZEGEDI brand and contemporary art.

The stand will feature works by visual artist Nemes Márton, photographer Jelen Ádám and ceramicist Sáfrán Anett, together with pieces from the brand’s bag collection, in a joint installation created with the contribution of Benus Dani and Szegedi Kata.

Through the work of twenty Hungarian artists, the exhibition Close to the Body (Testközelben), to be curated by art collector Spengler Katalin, presents contemporary jewellery art. The exhibition is complemented by a chamber retrospective showcasing the work of Fábián Veronika and Vági Flóra.

Besides the exhibitions, the three-day event will offer guided tours, professional and public programmes, and children’s activities.
