Garden of Lights

At the ELTE Botanical Garden (Füvészkert), Garden of Lights is presenting a light and multimedia exhibition telling the story of Peter Pan.

This year, Garden of Lights once again invites visitors into the magical world of a wonderful, cult fairy tale. The theme of this year's special light and multimedia exhibition is the story of the eternal child, Peter Pan.

The tale comes to life in the more than 250-year-old botanical garden, with fantastical creatures populating the picturesque surroundings. Alongside the legendary Peter, you will find the children who tumbled from London into the story of Neverland, Tinker Bell and the fairies, the Chief and his tribe, the dreaded Captain Hook and many, many more appealing and much-loved fairy-tale characters.

Reviving classic old tales is an important mission of Garden of Lights. The production believes that fairy tales – and through them the development of reading skills and the opening up of the world of imagination – have a very positive effect on children's development.

Now is the time to dust off that old book, or perhaps borrow it from the library, read it to the little ones or read it aloud together with the older ones, and then set off for the Botanical Garden, where children and adults alike can become part of the wonders of Neverland.

The light exhibition can also be a great leisure activity for fans of London, since, thanks to the story, Big Ben and Tower Bridge, among others, have “moved” into the garden for a while.

The light and multimedia exhibition covers almost the entire area of the botanical garden, with fairy-tale scenes never before seen in Hungary, monumental, richly detailed light and lantern installations, multimedia elements and catchy sound effects.

The experience is complemented by an app game, Gamification. During their walk through the exhibition, children and parents can play together: following questions related to the installations in the mobile app, they make their way to the exit, where a gift awaits them if they complete it successfully.

The Peter Pan light and multimedia exhibition can be visited at the Botanical Garden (1083 Budapest, Illés u. 25.) until 15 February 2026.
