Hotel Essence Pogány

The country's newest five-star hotel will open in spring on the edge of the village of Pogány, in beautiful natural surroundings. With its nature-inspired design and special services, the 100-room Hotel Essence aims to offer exceptional experiences in its category.

The greenfield hotel investment was inspired by Pécs, with its wealth of cultural heritage and Mediterranean atmosphere, and by the Villány wine region, rightly famous for its wines. Both the city and the wine region represent such high quality in their own category that they have long needed accommodation of a matching high standard.

Across four floors, Hotel Essence will offer 100 elegant rooms and numerous services not available elsewhere, providing exceptional opportunities to recharge and relax for families with young children and for couples.

The two guest groups will be served by two separate wellness areas: the 1,000-square-metre family wellness area welcomes those arriving with little ones with a baby pool and a children's pool, a jacuzzi, a lazy river, an outdoor pool and a sauna, while the 500-square-metre adults-only spa on the hotel's rooftop provides perfect relaxation with exclusive services, outdoor pools, a sun terrace, saunas, treatment rooms, a float spa and an alpha room.

In addition, the hotel will entertain guests with many other special features, such as a games room, a bowling alley, its own cinema, a chocolate-making workshop, a games console room, wine tasting and a fitness room.

The services will also be available to local residents as a day spa, so they too can enjoy the experience of relaxing at a hotel.

The interior design concept is the work of designers from the Italian company Natuzzi, who focused on closeness to nature and sustainability, using only natural materials alongside earth tones. Their work is characterised by clean lines and Italian elegance. The designer furniture not only offers an aesthetic experience but also guarantees exceptional comfort and a homely feel.

The gastronomy reflects the health-conscious standards of Austrian hotels: breakfast offers a wide selection and high quality across all product ranges, while dinner, served at the table as a five-course menu with main courses chosen from the menu and a buffet salad bar, creates a relaxed, queue-free shared dining experience.

The hotel was built on the hillside of a valley, around which vines (whose grapes guests will be able to sample themselves) and fruit trees have been planted; the harvest will be used in the kitchen. A football pitch, a maze, a playground and a volleyball court also encourage guests to spend active time outdoors.

In preparation for the opening, staff recruitment is getting under way. According to the operators, they are primarily counting on local residents from the surrounding area when selecting future team members, and are already looking forward to their applications.
