From 19 May, visitors to BOK Csarnok can take a look into the world of one of the most influential painters of all time. Gustav Klimt: The Immersive Experience, the interactive exhibition that has attracted tens of thousands of visitors worldwide, is coming to Hungary.
Although Gustav Klimt was born 163 years ago, he is one of the trendiest artists of the 21st century – the Art Nouveau master’s works appear on millions of gifts, garments, accessories and even tattoos. Klimt was already a public favourite in his lifetime, and today Gen Z TikTokers adore him just as much as the sophisticated visitors to Vienna’s Belvedere museum.
On 19 May, the interactive exhibition Gustav Klimt: The Immersive Experience arrives in Budapest, at BOK Csarnok (BOK Hall), using the latest technology to lead visitors into the mind and art of the great painter. In the 2,000-square-metre exhibition space, a gigantic virtual world brings his most important works and his fascinating life story to life. One of the most spectacular features of the exhibition will be a golden tunnel that is sure to tempt visitors to take photos.
The exhibition is being brought to Budapest by the same team that previously presented the Van Gogh and Monet productions in Hungary. The aim remains for visitors to encounter Klimt’s world in an entertaining, spectacular and educational 21st-century way, with the help of a VR experience.
After London, Dublin, Los Angeles, Miami and Antwerp, Gustav Klimt: The Immersive Experience welcomes visitors in Budapest from 19 May until early October.
