Night of the Chairlifts

On 11 July, the Night of the Chairlifts (Libegők Éjszakája) will be held for the eleventh time, with several of the country's chairlifts welcoming visitors with extended opening hours and special evening programmes. As in previous years, visitors are welcome this year in the Bükk, the Mátra, the Zemplén and the Buda Hills.

Several venues are joining the popular tourist event again this year, including the Zugligeti Libegő, the Oxygen Adrenalin Park at Sástó, the Zemplén Kalandpark and the Lillafüredi Libegőpark.

On this day, one of the Bükk's most popular attractions will operate from 10:00 to 22:00, so visitors can admire the sunset from Jávorhegy and then even ride the chairlift under the starry sky.

The programme in Lillafüred includes appearances by the chairlift's mascot, the lynx, a balloon-modelling clown, prize games, a colouring corner for children, and an evening photo wall and photo competition.

Tickets can only be bought in person on site. Please note that bikes can only be carried until 18:00, and the Falatozó snack bar will be open until 20:00, according to the Lillafüredi Libegőpark's Facebook page.

The Chernel István Sí és Turisztikai Klaszter (ski and tourism cluster) is coordinating the Night of the Chairlifts for the eleventh time this year; as they write, the detailed programmes will be published on the Síelj Itthon website one to two weeks before the event.
