CODE Digital Experience Centre, Veszprém

A place where science, technology and art meet! On 27 February, Veszprém gained another exciting, forward-looking cultural space with the opening of CODE – Center of Digital Experiences – Digitális Élményközpont.

Created by converting the former County Cultural Centre, the facility is not just an exhibition space but a dynamic, interactive art and technology laboratory, and one of the important legacies of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme.

CODE is a breathtaking audiovisual universe that uniquely combines the possibilities offered by science, technology and art. With stunning immersive spaces, special digital installations and interactive experiences, the institution welcomes everyone who wants to explore new formats of culture.

With the help of state-of-the-art multimedia tools, the world’s greatest works of art, the hidden secrets of the human body and the natural wonders of our planet come to life. Complemented by 3D and virtual reality technologies, the special spatial experience speaks to every generation, taking experiential learning and discovery into an entirely new dimension.

“CODE takes a new approach to exhibition formats – here visitors encounter works developed in-house specifically for CODE’s unique spaces, which guarantees that every visit holds a new experience. In creating the institution, we worked with internationally acclaimed partners such as Kiégő Izzók and Ars Electronica in Linz,” said Tóth Adorján, Operations Director of CODE.

Main attractions – immerse yourself in the technology of the future!
The digital experience centre offers unforgettable experiences in three main spaces:
Installation space: an exciting fusion of tradition and innovation, where digital art and analogue techniques converge, interspersed with interactive elements.
Studio: a 180-degree immersive projection space where visitors can enjoy stunning 3D and interactive experiences. Whether exploring outer space or getting to know a work of art in more depth, in this space the interweaving of popular science, visual arts and education offers out-of-the-ordinary experiences.
Hexagon: the heart of CODE, a 400-square-metre hexagonal space with 360-degree immersive projections, audiovisual shows and hybrid events. The Hexagon is also a perfect venue for theatre productions, concerts and digital art presentations.
